Former NFL Star Chris Johnson Reveals ALS Diagnosis

Former NFL running back Chris Johnson has revealed a devastating health diagnosis. The former Tennessee Titans star says he has been diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).

The Diagnosis

Johnson, known for his record-breaking 2,006-yard rushing season in 2009, shared the news publicly. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig s disease, is a progressive neurological condition that affects nerve cells controlling voluntary muscle movement.

There is currently no cure for ALS, though treatments can help manage symptoms and slow progression.

His Legacy

Chris Johnson was one of the most explosive running backs of his era. His CJ2K nickname came from his pursuit of 2,000 rushing yards, which he achieved in his second NFL season. He played for the Titans, Jets, and Cardinals over a decade-long career.

Community Response

Former teammates, NFL players, and fans have poured out support since the announcement. The football community has rallied around Johnson as he faces the most difficult challenge of his life.

Bottom Line

Chris Johnson gave everything on the football field. Now the community that cheered for him needs to show up for him off it.
