UPDATE: May 2, 2026
Megan Thee Stallion has officially announced she will be ending her role in Moulin Rouge early. Sources say the decision comes after weeks of emotional performances following her split from Klay Thompson. Her final show date has not yet been confirmed.
Megan Thee Stallion could not hold back the tears. Just hours after confirming her breakup with Klay Thompson and accusing him of cheating, the rapper broke down crying on stage during the curtain call of her Moulin Rouge! The Musical performance on Broadway Saturday night.
An Emotional Curtain Call
Fan captured footage from her Saturday appearance at the Tony Award winning Broadway show in New York City shows the 31 year old rapper visibly tearing up as the audience gave her a standing ovation. The moment immediately went viral across social media.
Megan had announced the split earlier that day on Instagram Stories, writing that Thompson had her "around your whole family playing house" before admitting he did not know if he could be monogamous.
Pardison Fontaine Sends a Message
Making the situation even messier, Megan's ex Pardison Fontaine chose this exact moment to sing Jagged Edge R&B song "he can't love you" that fans believe is directed at her. The timing was not lost on anyone, with social media erupting over the apparent shade.
Despite the emotional turmoil, Megan delivered a powerful performance that earned her a standing ovation from the Broadway audience. She is proving once again that no matter what life throws at her, she shows up and gives everything she has.
The internet is rallying behind Megan once again. Between the cheating allegations, the public breakup, and now the tears on stage, this is one of the most emotional celebrity moments of 2026.
